Dr. Kara Coglianese Named Next Superintendent
The CM School District Board of Education has determined through a vote of 4-2 at the December 18, 2018 regular board meeting to hire Dr. Kara Coglianese as Superintendent of Schools for the school years 2018-2022 at a base salary of $205,000. Dr. Coglianese was approved to assume interim duties from former interim, Mr. Ron Patton, at a special meeting of the Board of Education on July 2, 2018. Described by peers and school board executives as student-focused, collaborative, goal-oriented and data-driven, she is a 30-year veteran educator with experience as a teacher, administrator, national speaker, and professional development trainer.
“I am so proud of this board for exercising its due diligence in conducting this search,” said Board President Jennifer Gasbarro. The district began its search for a new superintendent nearly one year ago. “Dr. Coglianese has proven that she has high expectations for our children, staff, and school district. Since her arrival this summer, she has been a force in connecting with our stakeholders and working with our administration to begin the important work of making our students “Future Ready,” President Gasbarro added.
Dr. Coglianese holds a Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction from National-Louis University and a Doctorate Degree in Education from Roosevelt University. She is a resident of Frankfort where she lives with her husband and five children.
