The mission of the Maintenance Department is to provide a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for the children in the care of the Crete-Monee School District 201-U and for the employees of the school system.

Department Overview
Our Maintenance Department is keenly aware of its role in supporting the mission of the school district. In addition to overseeing the maintenance and repair of School Facilities, the Maintenance Department expends considerable effort accomplishing minor construction projects. The Maintenance Department must ensure all of our facilities are as well-maintained as possible. Meeting the demands and challenges to satisfy our mission requirements takes creative management and the use of non-conventional methods. Utilizing teamwork and continuous improvement, the Maintenance Department works to provide the highest quality of customer service.
Prevailing Wage Ordinance
The State of Illinois has enacted "An Act regulating wages of laborers, mechanics and other workers employed in any public works by the State, county, city or any public body or any political subdivision or by anyone under contract for public works," approved June 26, 1941, codified as ameded, 820 ILCS 130/1 et seq. and the aforesaid Act requires that the Crete-Monee School District 201U of the Villages of Crete, Monee, University Park and Park Forest investigate and ascertain the prevailing rate of wages as defined in said Act for laborers, mechanics and other workers in the locality of Will County employed in performing contstruction of public works, for said Crete-Monee School District 201U.
