Tech Respect: Responsibility Starts With "U"

Dear Crete-Monee 201-U Families,

In 2020, the district established a digital classroom environment by purchasing Chromebooks for every student. This 1:1 program has enabled our schools and district to share and participate in a collaborative learning community.

Effective Monday, January 24, 2022, the Technology Department and the Office of Teaching and Learning will launch our new TECH RESPECT: RESPONSIBILITY STARTS WITH “U” Chromebook campaign. This district-wide effort is designed to promote and reinforce student responsibility. Please remind your student of the following:

  • Students must come to school daily with a fully charged Chromebook.

  • Loaner devices are in short supply and students will now have a limited opportunity to borrow a Chromebook. If available:

    • Grades K-8 can receive up to 3 loaner devices only, per trimester.
    • Grades 9-12 can receive up to 5 loaner devices only, per semester.

  • The cost to replace a Chromebook charger is $25. Parents may opt out of having their child being provided a new charger. Please click below to exercise this option.

  • Broken/lost Chromebooks should be reported to the school’s main office (Grades K-5) or the onsite building IT staff member (Grades 6-12).

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for lost, stolen, and/or damaged devices ($250).

Please use the additional links on this page to review the Electronic Networks Policy 6:235, Student Code of Conduct and Parent Handbook 2021-2022, and the Tech Respect Frequently Asked Questions for Parents and Students.

Thank you for partnering with us as we seek to provide our students with access to technology that supports and enhances their education!

Sincerely,

Ghantel Perkins
