The CM 201-U Community Mentorship Committee hosted the MEN Empowerment Network 2023 Mentoring Conference for male students in 8th-12th grade as part of Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Day on Monday, January 16.
The event featured panel discussions on law enforcement, entrepreneurship, and the challenges that exist when people of color are viewed as “guilty by association.” Many of the panelists were CM201-U alumni. A live performance, breakfast, and lunch were also provided.
“We are very pleased to have hosted this event with our partners to address important issues in our community and honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” said Dr. Kara Coglianese, CM201-U Superintendent. “It was a meaningful and insightful conversation about how we can all work together to continue to strive for the future that Dr. King envisioned through his work.”
