Department Overview
The Department of Personnel & Culture is committed to building a dynamic workforce that supports the mission of Crete-Monee School District 201-U: to engage and empower our students to positively impact their community and future.
Our office oversees the recruitment, screening, and hiring of all district employees. We manage a variety of key functions, including:
- New employee orientation
- Employee benefits (including health insurance)
- Employee recognition and retirement
- Teacher licensure and evaluation
- Fingerprinting and background checks
Crete-Monee School District 201-U employs approximately 700 individuals, including 400 licensed staff and 300 support staff.
In addition, the department is responsible for:
- Maintaining official personnel records
- Negotiating collective bargaining agreements
- Overseeing workers' compensation and unemployment claims
- Managing wage and salary structures
- Coordinating the employment of substitute staff
- Collaborating with other departments to provide professional development across all employee groups
