Coretta Scott King Magnet Named to U.S. News & World Report's Best Elementary Schools List (2021)

Crete-Monee Middle School Receives Outstanding Project Award (2017)

CMHS recognized by U.S. News and World Reports as one of the top high schools in the nation. (2016)

CMHS achieves the highest ACT average since the year 2000 and the highest average ever since the implementation of the current version of the test. (2016)

Coretta Scott King Magnet School was the first ever IB (Inter Baccalaureate) PYP program in the state of Illinois. (2006)

Coretta Scott King Magnet School recognized as one of the top elementary schools in Will County by Chicago Magazine. (2016)

Early Learning Center (ELC) awarded the Gold Circle of Quality due to the results of their accountability visit from the state through ExceleRate Illinois. This is the highest quality rating possible.(2015)

Crete Elementary and ELC recognized as Unified Champion Schools due to their work with Project Unify through Young Athletes. (2016 – both recognized as "Crete Elementary School) The Sixth Grade Center was also previously recognized. (2015)

All CM201-U schools receive recognition from PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) for school implementations of their positive behavior intervention programs. (2014-2016)

Crete-Monee Sixth Grade Center receives the Promising Practices Award through the Character Education Partnership for their “Peace Week” celebration. (2012)

Coretta Scott King recognized as one of the top 30 elementary schools in Will County, CM Sixth Grade Center recognized as one of the top 50 elementary schools in Will County, and all other CM201-U elementary schools listed in the top 100 by Chicago Magazine. CSK progressed to the top 10 in 2016. (2010)

Betsy Crawford, CMMS teacher, received recognition as WGN Teacher of the Month. (2016)

Jason Okrasinski, CMHS teacher, received recognition as WGN Teacher of the Month. (2012)

Crete Elementary teacher receives the Golden Apple Teaching Award. (2012)

Over the past few years some of the CM201-U schools have received Model School recognition from the Southern Poverty Law Center for the schools' innovative events and activities surrounded around tolerance for the annual Mix it Up at Lunch Day event. (2013-15)

We have received continuous recognition for the CM201-U District website from INSPRA and NSPRA. (2011-13)

Multiple accomplishments have been achieved by CM201-U athletics and clubs including Special Olympics receiving multiple state achievements yearly. (2015 & 2016 links below)
