District Recruiter Marjorie Triche Engages Aspiring Educators at Regional Job Fairs and Mock Interviews

The district is proud to highlight the ongoing outreach efforts of District Recruiter Marjorie Triche, who has been connecting with aspiring educators at job fairs and mock interviews across Illinois and Indiana. These efforts are part of the district’s continued commitment to attracting top talent and fostering meaningful relationships with future teachers.
In recent months, Ms. Triche has represented the district at multiple university job fairs, promoting the opportunities available at Crete-Monee and encouraging students to consider the district for their student teaching experiences and future careers. Her travels have taken her to several institutions with strong teacher preparation programs, including Eastern Illinois University, known for its hands-on classroom experiences and student teaching placements, and Illinois State University, home to one of the nation's most prestigious educator training programs. At the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), a leader in urban and equity-focused education, she connected with candidates who are passionate about inclusive education. She also visited Indiana State University, which emphasizes innovative curriculum and real-world teaching preparation, and the University of Illinois Springfield, where civic engagement and lifelong learning are core to the teaching program. At Roosevelt University, Ms. Triche met with dedicated students drawn to the school’s commitment to social justice and culturally responsive education.
In addition to job fairs, Ms. Triche has participated in mock interview events designed to prepare students for the hiring process. These events, hosted at institutions such as Chicago State University, Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators (IASPA), Indiana State University, and Western Illinois University, allow future educators to practice their interview skills, receive constructive feedback, and build confidence. Western Illinois University, in particular, offers a strong teacher preparation program focused on rural and small-town teaching—an important pathway for students interested in serving close-knit communities. Through these one-on-one interactions, Ms. Triche helps students refine their professional presentation and encourages them to complete their student teaching at Crete-Monee School District 201-U.
Christina Flores Colbert, Math Division Leader at Crete-Monee High School, joined Ms. Triche at several events to engage with math-focused education students. At UIC, University of Illinois Springfield, and Indiana State University, she shared insights into the district’s math programs and opportunities available to educators, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Crete-Monee Middle School.
Additional job fairs and mock interview events are planned in the coming weeks. As the district continues to connect with passionate and skilled future educators, the goal remains clear: to welcome the next generation of teachers into the Crete-Monee family.
