Crete-Monee School District 201-U proudly hosted its annual Support Day on Saturday, August 8, transforming the Crete-Monee High School Fieldhouse into a vibrant hub of resources, activities, and connection for families across our community.
Held each year in the weeks leading up to the start of school, Support Day is designed to ensure students and families are prepared for a successful year. Families had access to essential items including school supplies, clothing, shoes, and hygiene products.
In recent years, the event has continued to grow, expanding to include a wellness and mental health fair that highlights valuable community-based resources and services. Families connected with a wide range of local vendors offering information on mental health and wellness services, childcare, youth programs, employment opportunities, and more. Students and parents who visited 20 vendor tables were entered into raffles, adding an extra layer of excitement and engagement.
Children also enjoyed face painting and temporary tattoos. Outside, the fun continued with inflatable activities and refreshments, including hot dogs, chips, and popsicles—creating a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere for all who attended.
This year, Support Day served more than 295 families and over 1,052 students, reflecting the continued impact and importance of this annual event. The success of Support Day is made possible by the dedication and generosity of our volunteers, including students, staff, board members, and community members and partners. We rely heavily on these individuals to plan, organize, and support the event, and their commitment truly demonstrates the power of community.
