On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Crete-Monee School District 201-U hosted its second annual Winter Coat Giveaway at Crete-Monee Middle School, providing essential winter items to local families in need. Thanks to strong community support, more than 600 coats were distributed to over 190 families, along with boots, shoes, and the opportunity to win raffle baskets.

Local organizations and churches generously donated all items and set up informational tables to connect families with available community services. Participating organizations included Our Steps are Ordered NFP, Trinity Lutheran Church, Village of University Park, Provision Lab, Nicor Gas, Monee Township, Milestones Counseling Center, Southwest Suburban Immigrant Project, Will County Health Department, National Alliance on Mental Illnesses Will-Grundy, Morning Star Mission, and Respond Now.

Special thanks to The Edge, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Walt’s Food Centers for providing refreshments, helping make the event a warm and welcoming experience for the community.
