Congratulations to the CMMS 8th Grade Girls' Basketball Team for their incredible performance at State, where they secured 3rd place! The team first claimed the Sectional Championship with an impressive 41-38 victory over Champaign-Franklin. On December 13, staff and students rallied together for a pep walkthrough, sending the Warriors off with lots of support as they headed to the state tournament.

On December 14, they faced Jane Adams from Bolingbrook, winning 35-28 to advance to the semi-finals, where they were defeated by Edwardsville Lincoln 34-14. Despite this setback, the Lady Warriors didn’t give up. On December 19, they were sent off by University Park Police, and that evening, they played an outstanding game, defeating Homeward Hart 26-17 to secure the 3rd place title.

This marks the first time in Crete-Monee 201-U history that the girls’ basketball team has qualified for state in two consecutive years. Congratulations to the team on this remarkable achievement! Everyone is incredibly proud of your hard work and determination!
