Crete-Monee School District 201-U is excited to announce the launch of ParentSquare, a unified and user-friendly communication platform designed to strengthen connections between schools and families.
ParentSquare consolidates all communication from the district, schools, classrooms, and school activity groups into a single, streamlined platform. This new tool ensures that every parent has the opportunity to stay informed and engaged in their child’s education. By consolidating various tools into a single system, ParentSquare offers a seamless experience for both parents and staff.
The district will launch Phase 1 of the rollout on September 22, 2025, focusing on key features such as:
- School alerts, notifications, and posts
- Attendance calls
- Bus route updates and notifications
- District calendars and contact information
All communications can be translated into the parent’s or guardian’s registered preferred language, except for attachments and images. Parents and guardians will also have the option to customize the frequency of notifications they receive.
Phase 2 of the rollout is planned for February 2026.
“We chose ParentSquare as our preferred communication platform because it unifies disparate tools and supports families with children in multiple schools,” said Ghantel Perkins, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. “It also encourages more robust engagement, promotes equity through language accessibility, and fosters the collaborative relationships needed to help raise confident and accomplished learners.”
Superintendent Dr. Kara Coglianese added, “We are always looking for ways to improve communication with our parents and community. ParentSquare is a key step forward in that effort.”
ParentSquare is now available for staff and families to explore and begin using. Only parents who are listed as contacts in our Skyward Student Information System (SIS) will have access to ParentSquare. Our partnership with ParentSquare will help empower our school community by facilitating stronger, more meaningful dialogue between home and school.
