This summer, Crete-Monee School District 201-U students had an enriching and exciting academic experience filled with exploration, innovation, and celebration. Through a variety of engaging programs and events, students across all grade levels had the opportunity to build skills, showcase their learning, and connect with their school community. Here are some highlights from a successful summer school season:

On July 17, our elementary summer school program hosted a “Let Your Dreams Take Flight” event, where families explored a career bulletin board and viewed student STEM projects —including impressive creations like a robotic arm.

The Crete-Monee Middle School Summer Exhibition took place on July 23, featuring student performances by the orchestra and band, STEM exhibitions, and displays highlighting reading and math learning materials.

Also on July 23, the Elementary End-of-Summer Awards Ceremony celebrated our students’ incredible progress. This special event recognized their hard work and achievements throughout a summer full of learning and personal growth.

Crete-Monee High School hosted two sessions of Shark Tank: Sell Your Genius Live were held! These exciting STEAM events gave high school students the opportunity to pitch their innovative ideas and prototypes to a panel of “Sharks.” The experience promoted creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship in a real-world setting. Finally, Warrior Summer Jam was the perfect way to wrap up our summer school session! Held on July 24, this celebration recognized students’ hard work throughout the summer in a fun and relaxed environment. Students enjoyed basketball, volleyball, oversized games like Jenga and Connect 4, and card games like Uno. Families were invited to join the fun, and staff provided support throughout the event. Pizza was served to all students and guests! Warrior Summer Jam was a fantastic way to build community, celebrate school spirit, and end the summer on a high note.
