The CM 201-U Board of Education selected a candidate this week to fill the seat vacated by former board member Dr. Nakia Hall (Sub-district 3) who resigned at the August school board meeting. University Park resident Brenda Mitchell will be sworn in at the September 17, 2019 board meeting upon being affirmatively voted in open session. "The board fulfilled its duty this week to fill the vacant board position, interviewing four well-qualified candidates," said Board President Nelson Albrecht. "Brenda Mitchell has a distinguished record of community service and will be a strong, independent voice for her constituents. I'm confident that Brenda will play an important role in maintaining the positive vision forward the district and board have worked so hard to achieve," he added.
