Notice of Lawn Care Product Application

In accordance with the Illinois Lawn Care Products Application and Notification Act, school districts are required to notify students, staff, and the community when lawn care chemicals are applied on or around school property.

Weather permitting, outsourced weed control and fertilization of the athletic fields is scheduled to begin on July 25, 2026, at the following locations:

  • Balmoral Elementary
  • Crete Elementary
  • Coretta Scott King Magnet School in University Park
  • Crete-Monee Early Learning Center
  • Monee Elementary
  • Talala Elementary in Park Forest
  • Crete-Monee Middle School
  • Crete-Monee High School
  • Maintenance and Receiving Facility
  • Administration Center
  • All athletic fields and facilities

These applications will not affect any scheduled games, practices, or other activities taking place on the athletic fields.

The Crete-Monee School District is committed to minimizing the use of chemicals for weed control and lawn care whenever possible. However, periodic applications are necessary to maintain safe and healthy athletic fields.

If you have any questions regarding the lawn care or fertilizer applications, please contact the Buildings and Grounds Office at 708-367-8210.
