The Crete-Monee School District 201-U held its first Strategic Planning Workgroup meeting on Thursday, February 22, with approximately 50 members participating.
During the session, participants discussed the importance of strategic planning, the process that will be used to create the strategic plan, and the district’s mission and vision. The group also reviewed the feedback from focus groups held on January 24, as well as results from the first community survey.
District leaders, along with Donovan Group partner Dr. Lori Mueller, delivered a State of the District presentation to the workgroup. Then, attendees discussed the strengths and potential areas of growth for the Crete-Monee School District 201-U moving forward. The workgroup comprises an inclusive group of parents, teachers and staff, administrators, and community members.
“We are sincerely grateful to the members of this important workgroup for dedicating their time, efforts, and perspectives to our strategic planning process,” said Dr. Kara Coglianese, Superintendent. “Together, we are charting a course toward even greater levels of success for the students of Crete-Monee schools. The groundwork laid in this first meeting sets a solid foundation for the district’s future trajectory and focus.”
The goal of the Strategic Planning Workgroup is to outline a path to sustainability and growth for the district in the years to come. Members will meet several times in the coming months, analyzing critical factors such as student performance and growth, educator quality, community engagement, and facilities and operations.
The group’s ultimate goal is to create a strategic plan that will guide decision making, set specific actions for progress, and enable the district to monitor, evaluate, and adjust to reach its goals.
The next workgroup meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20.
