In collaboration with the Village of University Park and the Will County Health Department, Crete-Monee School District 201-U participated in a local Community Wellness and Resource Fair held at the Village of University Park, 90 Towncenter Drive, in University Park from January 16th through January 18th.
This event provided individuals within our local community with essentials such as clothing, coats, food, hygiene kits, and household supplies. Many Crete-Monee School District employees graciously donated various items for the event. We were able to provide supplies to over 250 people in need on the first day of the event and over 1,000 people total during the 3-day event, which is amazing!
Special thanks to other local organizations that participated: New Hope Christian Community Church, Warehouse Workers for Justice, Will County Health Department & Community Health Center, Provision Lab, Faith Movers Church, Amazon, FedEx, Southwest Suburban Immigrant Project, Holsten Human Capital Development, Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness, United Way of Will County, Our Steps, Bag Lady Outreach, University Park Public Library, NHBW Joliet, and Silver Cross Hospital. Thank you to Calvin Jordan from Rich Township and David Shorts who provided transportation. We are proud to be a part of such an engaging and close-knit community that comes together to support one another.
