The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) hosted its first-ever Day of the Child event on April 25, 2022. Children’s Day has been celebrated annually in Mexico since 1925. Children are recognized as an important part of society, so the day focuses on the importance of loving, accepting, and appreciating children. This BPAC event was well attended by the bilingual families of the district. Parents were elated to see their students perform which included a Mexican folkloric dance. Other family activities included crafts, pinatas, and an Escape Room.
"Events like this one build school and family relationships which directly aligns with the mission of BPAC," said Rita Soto, CM 201-U ELL Coordinator.
