Crete-Monee School District 201-U is proud to announce its approval to host the first-ever indoor food pantry in the southland at its District Office in Crete. "After nearly two years of planning, we are so excited to have the honor of working with community partner Northern Illinois Food Bank to bring this new initiative to our families. The monthly pantries will provide vital access to food for children and their families within our district," said Assistant Superintendent of District Affairs Dr. Rochelle Clark.
The Unity Kitchen Program will allow families to avoid the long lines and inclement weather involved with shopping at outdoor food trucks. "They can now enjoy selecting nutritious, healthy food inside a convenient, safe space," says Pam Pansa, CM 201-U Food Service Director, who has been tasked with running the exciting new program.
