CMHS manufacturing students and staff receive grant from TMACrete-Monee High School manufacturing students and staff share a smile after receiving a $20,860 grant from the Technology & Manufacturing Association (TMA). The funds will go toward the purchase of an OKAMOTO 6”-12” Linear B Surface Grinding Machine. The machine will be used in the school’s metalworking/machining program. Students will be taught how to cut, machine, and grind items to customer specifications. The machine will also provide students the opportunity to earn a NIMS Level 1 Grinding certification. This year, CMHS added Metalworking I and II as courses to prepare students for careers in manufacturing. In these courses, students earn industry certifications, job fairs, participate in field trips to area manufacturers, and secure internships.
