Director of Food Service
The mission of the Department of Food Service is to build a bridge for student learning and to impact their academic performance by providing nutritious, high quality meals that are reasonably priced, excellent in appearance, and are served in a friendly, customer oriented environment.
The Child Nutrition Program operates under the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program(s). We currently service nine on-site preparation kitchens and one satellite kitchen with over sixty trained staff members and serve over 5000 students daily. The majority of our employees are state certified food handlers who regard food safety as a priority. Each cafeteria is supervised by its own manager. These managers are available to answer any questions parents may have on student accounts and our program.
In addition to serving our students breakfast and lunch, we also operate a summer meal program and cater District and community sponsored events. Staff and parent/guardians are always invited to enjoy an economical meal in our cafeterias.
The Department of Food Services provides wholesome, appetizing food choices for our students and District employees at a reasonable cost. These choices contribute to the good nutrition that is so vital to the mental and physical growth of our students. Lunch choices consist of one of several entrees, a variety of fruit and vegetable choices, and milk.
The Department of Food Services operates as a business. All costs, including salaries associated with the Department of Food Services are paid for by the revenue generated from food sales and federal and state reimbursements under the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program(s).
The Skyward Food Service Module is our computerized meal program. Parent/guardians are able to deposit meal funds through Skyward Fee Payment and choosing 'Food Service'. Additionally, parent/guardians have the ability to monitor their child’s meal choices through Skyward Family Access.
