The district’s administrative team along with the members of the Board of Education represented Crete-Monee School District 201-U at the Triple I Conference, November 18-20, 2016 in downtown Chicago. More than 9,600 public school leaders attended the 2016 Joint Annual Conference of the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB), Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA), and Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO).

The statewide conference held 111 panel sessions and 33 carousel panels in addition to pre-conference workshops, mini-clinics, and learning labs.

Topics such as Legal Updates, Best Practices, Community Relationships, Governmental Relations, The Art of School Boarding, and Finance were just a few of the important themes discussed at this year’s event. CM 201-U board members and administration attended various workshops and seminars to strengthen board governance and leadership.

Recognized as one of the nation's largest state education conferences, the event was open to local school board members, superintendents and secretaries, school administrators, state and regional educators and officials, school attorneys, university professors, and guests.

“The Triple I conference is an event that our board and staff look forward to attending every year. I was very impressed with some of the workshops provided, particularly the one regarding courageous conversations about race. As we enter into very momentous occurrences in our society we must realize the effect that these events have on our children, schools, communities and school boards. I am glad that the superintendent and multiple board members attended this workshop. I applaud IASB’s intrepidity to explore topics that impact our schools and learning community,” said Board President Hall.
