The mission of the Human Resource Department is to establish and maintain systems to efficiently and effectively recruit, employ, develop, retain, and serve a highly qualified and diverse labor force whose members consistently demonstrate their belief in and commitment to public education, integrity, and the District's vision of empowering and inspiring all learners.

The Department of Human Resources is responsible for recruiting, screening, and hiring all district employees. Among the many programs the department supervises are employee orientation, benefits such as health insurance, employee recognition, retirement, teacher certification, employee evaluation, and fingerprinting. Crete-Monee School District 201-U employs approximately 700 people. There are approximately 400 people that make up the certified staff and 300 that are support staff. Nearly 55 percent of the teaching staff hold master's degrees. The average teaching experience is 11 years.
All official personnel records are maintained by this department, which also coordinates the following district programs: Board of Education policies, negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, official school calendar, worker's compensation, unemployment compensation, wage and salary computation, employment of substitute teachers, and staff development for classified employee groups.
