STEP Literacy Assessment – Grades K-1
The STEP Literacy Assessment® is a developmental literacy assessment and instructional tool that tracks the progress of pre-kindergarten through third grade students as they learn to read. STEP™ divides literacy achievement into 12 steps—from concepts about print and letter identification to answering comprehension questions and story retelling.

Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Reading Assessment – Grades 2-5
The Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Reading Assessment links assessment results to reading instruction. This comprehensive one-on-one assessment determines students' instructional and independent reading abilities. The resulting information allows teachers to plan reading instruction to meet student needs and measure reading growth over time.

NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) – Grades K-8 - www.NWEA.org
NWEA MAP is a computerized, adaptive assessment that measures student performance and growth in Reading, and Math. Tests present students with engaging, age-appropriate content. Adaptive assessments adjust the difficulty of questions as the student responds correctly or incorrectly. The result is a wealth of detailed information on each student including instructional level and performance on state and local standards. Students take this assessment three times per year.

SAT Suite of Assessments – Grades 8-11 – http://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org
The SAT Suite of Assessments is an integrated system of tests. The tests measure the same skills and knowledge in ways that make sense for different grade levels. As students progress through the grade levels, the tests keep pace, matching the scope and difficulty of work being done in the classroom.
PSAT 8/9
Taken in the fall or spring of eighth and ninth grade, the PSAT 8/9 establishes a baseline measurement of college and career readiness as students enter high school.
PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10
The PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 are the same test, offered at different times of year. They serve as check-ins on student progress and pinpoint areas for development. Students can take the PSAT/NMSQT in the fall of 10th and 11th grade. PSAT 10 is taken in the spring of 10th grade. The PSAT/NMSQT automatically screens students for the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.

SAT
SAT is a college entrance exam that is taken by 11th and 12th grade students. In Illinois the SAT is the state accountability assessment that is given to all 11th grade students.
