Coach of the Year - John Konecki

On behalf of Crete-Monee Athletics and Activities, please join us in congratulating Coach John Konecki.  He has been named as one of Chicagoland's Outstanding High School Head Football Coaches of the 2017-2018 school year, as chosen by Prep Insight Magazine.  Coach Konecki was awarded this honor based on his outstanding leadership and ability to motivate his student athletes.  He continues to go above and beyond in his coaching duties, and is highly deserving of this award.  He will be honored at an awards ceremony dinner on April 29th at a prestigious venue sponsored by Prep Insight Magazine.  Congratulations on a job well done!

Congratulations to this year's Conference championship teams:  Football, Wrestling, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Golf, and Girls Tennis.  



Boys Track

Breaking Records
This past weekend Jamal Safo broke the school record for the Long Jump.  The record was set Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Huntley Invitational.  Jamal Safo jumped 23 feet 7.5 inches to break the mark previously held by KJ Franklin.

Congratulations to Malik Hardmon
Congratulations to Malik Hardmon for being selected to play in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) All-Star game for the South Squad on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Pontiac, Illinois.


All Conference Players
Crete Monee boys varsity basketball team enjoyed much success this year which was continued at the SAC Conference meeting on March 23rd by the naming of three All-Conference Warriors and two honorable mentions. 

The warriors won the conference championship with a massive victory over Conference rival Rich South on Crete’s Senior night! The Coaches of the SAC Conference elected 3 Warriors Tyrese Hunt, who is Captain of the team, Joshua Evans, who is the Warriors 2017-2018 MVP, and Forward Malik Hardmon, who also was selected for the IHSA Boys Basketball All-State team! Two other Warriors were awarded All-Conference honorable mentions, Senior Isaiah Rucker and Junior Kariem Hamilton. 


Coach Coleman said “he is so proud of this team for getting his first Conference Championship as his first tenure as the Warriors head coach and looks forward to repeating next year with what looks like another stacked Warrior squad,”!
