
This school year, the Crete-Monee High School Faces and Cavaliers sang and danced their way to the top! Students earned the esteemed honors of competing against the top show choirs in the country as a part of the National Competition. The prestigious event was held on April 21
st in the students’ own backyard! The best of the best from across the nation gathered at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago to show the judges just what they were made of!
The show choirs qualified at the Chicago Regional event held at the Genessee Theater in Waukeegan, IL on March 24
th. The Cavaliers were one of the two representatives from the Chicago Regional and competed with the top 20 mixed show choirs in the country. Faces won their division at the Chicago Regional and competed with the top 10 female show choirs in the nation. Our group also provided the best female performer of the Chicago Regional competition - Jillian Colletti!
At the Nationals competition in Chicago, the Cavaliers competed against the top 22 mixed show choirs in the nation and finished in 12
th place. Faces competed against the top 12 unisex show choirs in the nation and brought home the third place trophy. In addition to the choirs’ outstanding efforts, our own Davey Hood took the best female solo at this prestigious nationals event!
The Finals are the culmination of the Show Choir National Championship Series (SCNCS) which took place in five cities across the nation including Hollywood, Branson, Orlando, New York City and Chicago! The top three mixed show choirs and the top two women’s show choirs each qualified for the Show Choir National Finals in Chicago.
