Visitation
The college visit is a very important step in the college selection process. It is important because it allows you the opportunity to view the physical setting, classrooms, dorms, and to visit with current students and faculty. By being physically present on a campus, you can get a “feel” for college life at this college. Colleges offer many visitation times. You can visit when classes are in session, during the summer, or on visitation weekends. Check the college’s website for visitation information. While visiting, take a tour (admission offices make arrangements for tours) and have a meal on campus. Speak with an admissions counselor about majors, courses, application requirements, and opportunities for success.

If you cannot visit, most colleges and universities have virtual tours on their websites. Numerous college and university representatives visit Crete-Monee School District.

When scheduling a college visit, please be aware of the following CMHS requirements:
Students are allowed 2 college visits per semester. They must schedule their college visit first and provide the attendance office with a parent letter stating the reason for the absence. The attendance office will then give the students a “Planned Absence” form in which the student should have each of their teacher’s, counselor’s, and parent signature and submit to the attendance office before the absence can be officially excused.
