He also discussed how he had a meeting with the district web master. John recommended that we continue to update the PTO page. The ELC PTO page looks good. Jeanie continues to update it.
IV. Board Member Reports
Jessica said that we made $49.68 on out McDonald’s fundraising night. We will most likely not have this fundraiser again.
She also received a thank you note from Mrs. Brady for the luncheon.
Vice President- Jeannie Groen- Recycling- We received a check from the recycling company, but it was only half of our funds because the company filed bankruptcy again.
Secretary- Sara Meadows – No report
Treasurer- Shelly Porpora- reported that the checking account balance is $5,355.12.
Faculty Representative- Tammi Winter- Discussed that Family Night on 1/19/11 is Science Night. Tammi and Mr. K. talked about the special raffle they will have that night where nine families will receive a Teddy Bear. They were donated from the liaison from the food pantry for all of the food and money donations that they received for the less fortunate.
V. Chairperson Report
Jen Neri discussed the Script cards. They will start soon. A Fuddruckers Night may be coming up. Another possible fundraiser is Creative Image Photographics. The PTO will look further into this and possibly set up a date for the company to come out and photograph families for a $10 fee. The family would receive one 8x10 and has the option to buy different packages.
Book Fair- Jen Gasbarro discussed that she will meet with the new rep from Scholastic on Wednesday. They are looking for ways to increase profits. We will use the same schedule that we used in the fall. Jen will get the flyers out.
VI. Old Business
The ELC is hosting a Dave Rudolph beach concert on February 9, 2011 for Family Night.
The ELC PTO is looking for ideas and planning to host an assembly for the students. Teachers will look into some ideas as well. Crete park district may have some options.
VII. New Business-
Grandparents/Special Person’s Day will be Thursday, March 24, 2011. The PTO will purchase the cookies and punch. The teachers will organize the activity. Since many grandparents don’t know the name of their grandchild’s teacher, we will try to develop a master class list off all students and teachers. A slide show will also be playing during the reception part of the program. Teachers may also decorate with art work that the student made.
Field Day will be Friday, May 20, 2011. More information to come.
Natalie Watts wrote a book called What Color Crayon Will You Be and made a CD. She suggested that she give a presentation/performance to students/parents and then will have the book available for purchase for $10. She will talk to Mr. K. about this before a decision is made.
Mr. K. stated that the new traffic pattern is working well. There is less traffic on the streets and parents have adapted well to the change.
