Once again, the district will be participating in the Summer Meal Program. Schools, operating an academic summer school, and, approved by the Illinois State Board of Education, will serve meals free of charge to children 18 years and younger in communities where at least 50% of the children are eligible for free/reduced priced school meals.
Through this program, all children 18 years and younger are eligible to receive free meals. Academic summer school attendees have scheduled lunch mods. Following student lunch mods, doors will be open to the community and any child 18 years and younger will be able to receive a nutritious meal at no cost. Adults may purchase a lunch meal for $3.25. All meals must be consumed in the cafeteria and cannot be shared.
