My name is Denise Graney. I love being a teacher. I earned a BA in English from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and a Masters in Teaching from Dominican University.I’ve been teaching since 1986, and I’ve taught English at Crete-Monee High School since 2005. I currently teach both AP English Language and Composition and Honors Fr. English. While I’ve been teaching for a long time, I never find it boring. I am constantly challenged to grow and learn.
My greatest joy in life is my family. My husband—also a high school teacher—and I are proud parents of three great kids who keep us busy yet feeling very blessed. I think my role as a parent helps me be a more effective teacher, and I work diligently to balance being a good mom and a good teacher.
I have high expectations for my students, and I know that through hard work and dedication they will grow and develop to their highest potential. I look forward to a great year!
