My name is Rebecca Johnson, and I have been an English teacher at Crete-Monee High School since 2003.
I have loved to read and write since I can remember. I pursued my dream to become a teacher, and I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. I also finished a graduate program at Governor’s State University and received my Master’s Degree. I enjoy learning and believe learning is a life-long process. I intend to learn from your children as much as they will learn from me.
My belief is that all students can achieve high standards. I like to challenge students within my classroom while creating a comfortable and respectful learning environment for them. I believe each student is unique. I encourage students to respect one another, because I believe my classroom is a place where everyone can learn from one another. I like to find out what makes each student unique and use that to help each one achieve high standards in my classroom. I like to give students opportunities to show their independence and creativity. I know that every student is capable of achieving excellence in my classroom and I expect every student to put forth their very best effort.
In addition to my passion for teaching and learning, I am also passionate about my family. I had my first child, a son, in February 2014. His name is Dylan. I had my second child, a daughter, Harper, in October 2015. My children have brought so much joy to my life.
I am also very passionate about animals. I love cats and dogs, but I especially love dogs. I have a Boston Terrier/Beagle mix named Lancelot. ?
I am looking forward to teaching your children this year. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason.
