Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!!! My name is Sherice Smith. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Lewis University and a Master’s Degree in Reading Specialist from Saint Xavier University. This will be my twelfth year teaching third grade at Monee Elementary! I am planning and anticipating a year filled with exciting, challenging, and thought-provoking learning experiences. I am looking forward to teaching and watching all of my students learn and grow!
I believe that a good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher. Throughout the year, I will make every effort to keep the lines of communication open so that we, together, can help my students achieve their goals. Curriculum Night will be from 6:00—7:30 on Tuesday, September 12 for grades 3—5. I look forward to meeting and speaking with you about the curriculum on that night.
Third grade is a big transition year. My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high. It is my belief that every child can learn and be successful through hard work and being an active participant in class. With your participation both in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, creative, and enjoyable year together.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading mystery books by James Patterson, going for walks, exercising, dancing, and traveling.
Please feel free to email me at email@example.com or call 708-367-2600 throughout the year should you have any concerns, questions, suggestions, or comments.
This is going to be a busy and productive year filled with exciting, energetic, learning activities and class events! I am really looking forward to watching your children achieve and succeed!
Here’s to a wonderful school year!!!!
