Welcome Letter from Mrs. Parchman

Welcome Talala Families,

My name is Mrs. Nekia Parchman, and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this school year.  I currently have a master’s degree in Special Education, from Governors State University.  Though I have been teaching for six years, this is my first year teaching at Talala Elementary.  I taught in Chicago Public Schools for four years, and Park Forest-Chicago Heights for one year.  I can’t wait to see what this school year brings.  I am so excited to see your child learn and grow!  It is my belief that with the right tools and support, all students can reach their fullest potential.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, singing, completing puzzles, and spending time with my family. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world. For this reason, I am looking forward to supporting your child academically, socially, and emotionally.
