Dear Parents, Students, and Staff:

Welcome to 2017/2018 school year at Monee Education Center! I am very excited to work with your student this year at MEC. My name is Mrs. Garza and I am the CIBS attendant. I have been an educator for the past 11 years and taught at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills and Morton Freshman Center in Cicero, Illinois. My background is in English, literature and Language Arts. I attended Columbia College in Chicago and Governors State University where I received my B.A. in English with Secondary Education certification in 2008.

My role as the CIBS attendant is to de-escalate behaviors, support teachers with classroom management, and use intervention strategies to form positive behavior in students and in the classroom. MEC has a collaborative support system for our students in which we model and reinforce respect, responsibility and safety in our students’ daily lives.
