My name is Kimberly Simpson and I am excited to be serving in the Social Sciences Department at CMHS. I have been a teacher at Crete Monee High School since 2016, and I teach Experiences in Social Studies and U.S. History. I have two bachelor degrees: one from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in English with a minor in Political Science and one in Secondary Education: English and Social Sciences from Illinois State University. I also have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I have been an educator since 2000. I lived in Central Illinois for 27 years, but I am a native of Chicago and have recently relocated to the south suburbs with my husband and three beautiful children.
My mantra is “Proper planning prevents poor performance” and I give my students the tools they need to be successful. I have high expectations for myself and I hold my students to a high standard as well. My goal is to prepare them for whatever lies ahead in their future.
