My name is Mrs. Jacqueline Olson and this year I will be co-teaching with Mrs. French. As a co-teacher, I will team teach in an inclusive classroom, which means that your child will have two licensed teachers providing high quality instruction to scholars. By using this model it will allow us to use a variety of teaching methods. At times we will both be instructing, while at other times, one of us may lead the instruction while the other will be assisting with learning strategies, discipline, and individual needs. Mrs. French and I will co-plan, co-instruct, and co-assess the progress of each scholar. In addition, we will discuss grading and any accommodations/modifications needed for scholars to be successful. The extra support is a benefit for all scholars.
Mrs. French & I look forward to having our scholars reach their goals. Having your help at home can be helpful as well. As a part of the third grade objectives, scholars are to be able to read fluently and answer comprehension questions. Having your scholar read to you nightly can be very beneficial to their education. You can follow up by asking comprehension questions about the story that they read. Also, multiplication and division are a part of the objectives for our 3rd grade scholars. Practicing nightly on multiplication/division facts by using flash cards can be effective. We want to thank you for your continued support.
I firmly believe that the key to a successful school year starts with having an open, ongoing dialog with my parents/guardians. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact me at any time either by email or phone. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
