My name is Mrs. King and I am a mathematics teacher at Crete-Monee High School. I received my bachelor’s degree from Governors State University in December of 2015. I have been a teacher at CMHS since January 2016. I am a resident of the community and my own three children are students within the district.
My educational philosophy is centered around the uniqueness of each student and the belief that every student can be successful. Mathematics is everywhere in the world around us, and I believe that when students begin to see and make those connections they are more successful. Student based discussions are an important part of the learning process and are integrated into every lesson. These discussions give each student the opportunity to see the world and the mathematics within it from someone else’s point of view. This allows students to build their own knowledge base by gaining understanding of the world in a way they may not have seen it before. I believe that when you focus on each students individuality you can lead all students to success not only in the classroom but outside of it as well.
I am looking forward to a great school year!
