My name is Melanie Duffy, and I am proud to teach reading and English at Crete Monee High School. My background and educational experiences have shaped who I am as a teacher. I graduated from Lemont High School in 2007. In 2012, I graduated from Lewis University with a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English, and I student taught at Reavis High School in Burbank. Before coming to Crete-Monee, I worked at Bremen High School in Midlothian for one year and I worked at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills for a year and a half. I have taught here at Crete Monee High School since 2013.
I am passionate about teaching and I believe that each child will succeed in my classroom with the proper motivation and support. This is a classroom where students can come with questions, concerns, and feedback and feel reassured that they are on the path to achievement. With that in mind, I also strive to establish the same rapport with parents and guardians so please do no hesitate to call or email me.
My educational philosophy is firmly rooted in the belief that all students can succeed when given the proper support, resources, and environment. With that in mind, I have worked hard to create a classroom climate that thrives on mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation. This is going to be a great year at Crete-Monee High School and I am excited to have your child in class.
