Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year, my name is Mrs. Linda Nelson, Special Education Coordinator at Crete-Monee High School. I am a graduate of Glenbard South High School, the College of DuPage, Western Illinois University, Governors State University and Lewis University. My husband and I are the parents of two Crete-Monee graduates. Bryan is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and works for State Farm Insurance as a systems analyst. Bryan, Julie (our daughter-in-law), and our grandson Tyler live in Chandler, Arizona. Our daughter, Cathy, is a graduate of Valparaiso University and Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a family physician in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
My career path has always been in the field of education, teaching 3 year olds thru 12th grade, in the general education and the special education classrooms. I value my role as an educator, preparing today’s youth for a successful transition into adulthood. Nurturing and inspiring students to be the “best that they can be” in their personal life as well as their academic career is one of the joys of being an educator. It is extremely rewarding when former students stop by to visit and share with me their successes. This is an educator’s dream come true!
