Dear Parents and Families:
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! My name is Ms. Kacy Ruklic and I will be your student’s Guidance Counselor at Crete-Monee High School. This is my 3rd year as a Guidance Counselor and my 9th year working in the district. I previously served as the Community Relations Assistant, 21st Century Grant Coordinator, and Guidance Coordinator.
I am a CMHS graduate and attended the CM201U school district from kindergarten through senior year. I really am a Warrior for life! After graduating from CMHS, I attended Indiana University – Bloomington, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication & Culture with a minor in Sociology. After taking a short break, I attended Lewis University and obtained my Master of Arts degree in School Counseling.
As your student’s Guidance Counselor, I am responsible for:
- Teaching classroom guidance lessons on a variety of topics pertaining to the well-being of students (Social/Emotional, Academic, and College/Career)
- Counseling individual and small groups of students
- Guiding students in educational and career plans
- Consulting with parents and teachers
- Planning and organizing programs and special events
- Sharing information about various community services that are available
My goal, as your Guidance Counselor, is to work with you so we can better serve our students. The school counseling program is student-centered. I believe that all students should be able to learn in an environment that meets their needs in order to achieve their maximum potential. Together we (administrators, staff, and parents) can provide a respectful and encouraging environment that helps our students meet present and future challenges in an ever-changing global society.
I am excited to work with the students, parents, and faculty at CMHS to help every student develop strong character, life skills, and positive relationships for successful living in a diverse world. Feel free to stop by my office to say Hi! I want to get to know you and your child so that we can make their years at CMHS as awesome as possible. Please e-mail or call me if you have any questions or concerns.
