Welcome Letter from Mrs. Kennedy
Dear Student and Parent/Guardian,
High School is a wonderful period of time in your life.
I am very excited to be a part of that experience.
My name is Mrs. Kennedy and I am the Reading Strategies Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year at the Monee Education Center.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Illinois. I earned a Master’s Degree in Teaching and a second Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from Olivet Nazarene University.
Students, I believe you will really enjoy this school year. It will be a year of positive progress. Please talk to me if you have questions, concerns or don't understand something. You will find that I am a good listener.
Parents/Guardians, by working together “we” will support your child on their journey. Research has proven that when we work together students: attend school, earn higher grades, pass their classes and graduate. I believe that parent/teacher communication is necessary to have a successful year. I will make contact with you throughout the academic year to share praises and listen to your concerns.
The school number is (708) 367-2660. If you contact me by phone please leave a detailed message, so that I understand your concern. The best way to reach me is by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to a great year. Working together, we will achieve a successful school year with your student.
Cathy Kennedy, M.Ed.
