Welcome Letter from Mrs. Rivera
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We would like to welcome you and your child to The Crete-Monee Early Learning Center! Below is a list of important information.
Attendance: It is important for your child to come to school as often as possible during the school year. If your child is to be absent please contact The Crete-Monee Early Learning Center at 367-2770.
Dress: It is important for the children to wear clothes that can be buttoned, zipped, snapped, etc. by themselves. Have your child wear comfortable play clothes and shoes since we often sit on the floor, do messy projects, and play outdoors. Also, it is important to dress accordingly to the weather. (ex. hats, mittens and boots may be necessary).
Extra Clothes: Please send an extra set of clothes to be left at school. Accidents happen and we really need clean, dry clothes for the occasion.
Snacks: I will send home a snack calendar every month. On your child’s snack day if you would like to donate snack for the class please send enough for 20 children.
Milk: Milk is purchased through the school and the cost for the semester will be sent home.
Birthdays: You may want to send a special treat (please do not send cake) to celebrate this special occasion. If you are interested in celebrating with your child and your schedule allows it, contact us ahead of time. If you do not celebrate birthdays please let us know immediately.
Parent/Teacher Communication: It is very important to the success of your child that we keep good contact throughout the year. We can communicate several ways. We can communicate through a spiral notebook, which you may write us daily on anything affecting your child’s life and interesting things that will help us know and understand your child. We will try to respond at least once a week on any observations we have made. We can also communicate by phone( 708-367-2781) and we ask that you call before or after school due to the importance of us tending to the children in the classroom. Also, if we need to meet in person, call and I would be happy to make an appointment with you.
Parent Visitation: We encourage parent participation and visitations. We do require that you wait at least two weeks into the school year for your child to become adjusted to the classroom.
Book Orders: This is strictly you and your child’s decision to order. There are two ways that orders can be placed either online at www.scholastic.com/parentordering user name: mrsriverasprek password: bookorders or return the order form and cash or check made out to Scholastics by the due date, I will place the order and disburse the books when they arrive.
Remember: No candy, gum, or money is to be brought to school unless requested.
This school year may be your child’s first experience to school and we want to make it a fun and exciting one. We look forward to a great school year with your child. Thank you for your support and cooperation!
