Welcome Letter from Ms. Hoecker
Hello! My name is Laura Hoecker and I have been a pre-k teacher for thirteen years. This is my eleventh year working in the Crete School District. I have taught in an early childhood or pre-k room since graduating from college. I attended Illinois State University where I graduated with an Early Childhood Education Degree with a Special Education endorsement. I also received my Master's Degree from Concordia University in School Leadership.
I feel that my duty as an Early Childhood teacher is to make the classroom work, and make an improvement in my student’s lives. I believe that the ages in an early childhood classroom are the most important in a child’s life and that learning should be fun. I teach through using all five senses and hands-on experiences.
I believe that a parent’s role is very important in helping a child grow and learn. I think parent involvement is very important in the school setting. I welcome parents into my room as an observer or classroom helper. I feel that teacher/parent communication is very important and should always be open.
Thank you, I am very excited to have your child in my class this year!
