Welcome Letter from Mrs. Braceful-Quarles
My name is Sandra Braceful-Quarles and I am honored and delighted to be part of the 4th grade team for the 2017-2018. If my name sounds familiar, it’s because I was on the Talala 3rd grade team for six years and at Coretta Scott King Magnet School for four years.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Trinity Christian College, and in 2009 I completed my Master’s Degree in Teaching & Leadership from Saint Xavier University. As an avid reader myself, my graduate project focused on Independent Reading. Through this project I have been able to strengthen, focus, and develop reading methods and strategies while incorporating best practices for my students in the classroom. I also enjoy sports and exercise. You may see me riding my bike to school some mornings.
My philosophy about teaching is that all students are capable of thinking and therefore learning. It is my objective as a teacher to always have students perform to the best of their ability. As no two children are alike, I am constantly challenging students to always do their best work and reflect on their learning. My goal is to always allow students to be involved in their growth in the classroom. It is this growth that keeps me enthusiastic every year. I look forward to working with you, the students, and watching us soar this school year as we increase our knowledge together toward our highest level of achievement.
