Welcome Letter from Ms. Hayden,
Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year
Hello, my name is Ms. Thompson and I teach Early Childhood Special Education at the Crete-Monee Early Learning Center, home of Leo the Lion Cub! I am starting my 13th year as a teacher here along with my assistants Ms. Lynn & Ms. Deanna. I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood from Purdue University and a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Leadership from Saint Xavier University. I also serve as a Parent Coordinator for our school and help to plan many of our family events. I keep busy at home with my 13-year old daughter, Jacinda and my 5-year old son, RJ.
A typical day in our classroom includes large group time, snack, exploring time, gross motor, story and work in small groups. Students in my classroom also go to a weekly speech group and may have one on one time with speech, occupational, and physical therapists inside or outside of the classroom.
This school year we will continue to implement the “Creative Curriculum” program. This study will focus more on the children’s interests and assessments will be made through teacher observations.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns throughout the school year. Communication between home and school is an essential component to making your child’s school year a success. We look forward to meeting all of you and working with you and your children this school year!
Ms. Jamie Hayden
