Hi, my name is Mrs. Belin. I teach Statistics, Business Math, and AP Statistics. I started teaching at Crete-Monee in 2008, and I am so excited to be back in the high school classroom. I started teaching math in 1993 at T.F. North High School in Calumet City, Illinois. I taught for three years before having my first son. I stayed home and raised my four boys until 2003, when I took a part-time teaching position at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois. Now that all of my boys are in school full time, I am excited to be back where my passion lies: High School.
When I was in first grade, my parents bought me a chalk board. I would play school almost every day and my dream was to be a teacher. Math was always my favorite subject, so I knew that I wanted to teach math. Working with kids has become a delight of mine, and I am very eager and excited to have a chance to impact the lives of our future.
I attended DePaul University in Lincoln Park and was honored to receive the Deans of Education scholarship. At DePaul, I also met my husband in a Geometry class. We both teach high school math, so we have a lot to talk about. We are both currently pursuing a master degree in math from Governors’ State University.
I love sports and my boys played football for the Crete Bulldogs. I am a huge fan of the Chicago White Sox and Blackhawks! I take pride in growing up in Crete.
My goal is to have each and every one of my students learn. With your help, we can make this happen. I am looking forward to a wonderful year! Every day ask your child what they learned in math class.
