Hello! It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as your child’s teacher, Mrs. Mitchell. I was born and raised a Hoosier, and after graduating college, I moved out West. I began my teaching career in 1997 in Arizona, where I taught a variety of levels of special education. After 10 years in the desert, I re-migrated back to the Midwest in 2007 with my family. It was then that I became part of the 201U family. I have also taught many different levels of special education at Crete-Monee High School, but found my niche with the multi-needs class. I absolutely love working with your children and they give me so much more than I could have imagined.
I believe that all kids can learn and be successful when given the right tools. I focus on my students’ social, emotional, physical, and educational well-being, as well as work closely with each of my student’s parents. I believe that keeping an open-line of communication between home and school is a crucial part of helping all of my students grow to reach his/her capacity.
