My name is Mrs. Mikal and I have been teaching at Crete-Monee High School since 2007. I received my bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I also have two master’s degrees from Governors State University in Political and Justice Studies and Educational Administration. I have served as a new teacher mentor since 2008 and have been the sponsor of National Honor Society since 2013.
Some people ask why I want to teach history. I always give them the same answer: because I love it! I was influenced by several high school and college history teachers who showed me how to get students excited about the subject matter and also how to be a caring and supportive teacher. I am very dedicated to teaching and I love working with young adults. I hope to make a difference in the lives of each and every student that I encounter in order to help them succeed.
