CMMS 6th Grade Students Visit Skylab

6th grade science classes along with Ms. Liston's science class experienced a fabulous and unique learning experience on Tuesday, November 28th. As a culminating educational event for our Astronomy Unit, our students crawled into a "new world" called Sky Lab. Sky Lab is a portable planetarium that provides science programs coordinated to class studies that are presented by a professional science educator. Thirty to ninety students were able to enter the Sky Lab per period to benefit from the incredible astronomy instruction enhanced by a myriad of detailed pictures and images related to astronomy and its history.
Students and staff viewed the night sky, journeyed to planets, gazed at the astronauts responsible for space discoveries, learned about  mythology associated with the stars and constellations. The Sky Lab experience was fantastic allowing our students to further learn about astronomy in a unique and fun way. Thanks to Mrs. Ryder for securing Sky Lab for us and the afternoon IMSA students. Thank you to all staff involved for ensuring our students had a safe and fun time learning.
