Again this summer, all students who will be entering Crete-Monee Middle School will be required to read one book over the summer. There is a brief assignment that goes with the reading that is due to the students’ reading teacher by the end of the third week of school. The 2012 summer reading list is posted and will be distributed. Everyone is required to read a book off of this list. Returning students should remember that all of your independent books from this year have been recorded, so be sure to pick a new book.

The reading list has over forty books on it; there are many new titles. Everyone should be able to find something interesting. Having trouble choosing a book? Contact Mrs. Keene at keeneg@cm201u.org; she’d be happy to help. Can’t choose just one? Get a jump start on the semester and read two.

Students and staff are encouraged to post their thoughts on their book on our Summer Reading wall. The website is linked to our school homepage. Log on throughout the summer to catch up with what others are reading, review your book, post a question, and check up on your teachers (They should be reading too!).
